Do I get updates after I buy?

Yes, free, for as long as you hold the licence. When a seller publishes a new version of an item you own, you download it from the same place at no extra cost.

Updates and support are different things

This trips people up, so it is worth being plain about:

• Updates never expire. New versions stay available to you permanently, whatever your support status says.
• Support does expire. Support is the seller's time answering your questions, and it runs for a set window.

So when support lapses you keep getting new versions, you just are not entitled to the seller's help installing them.

How you find out there is one

The newest version is always what My licences serves, so you do not need to hunt for it. Sellers who publish a changelog put it on the item page, which is the place to look before you upgrade a live site.

What an update will not do

Nobody pushes anything to your server. An update is a new file waiting for you to download and apply, deliberately, so a live site never changes underneath you.

Also worth knowing: if you have edited the item's code, an update can overwrite your changes. Keep customisations where the item supports them, such as a child theme or a config file, and take a backup before you upgrade anything that is running in production.
